Jenna is one!!!!!!

It is hard to believe Jenna is one year old! She is so sweet, silly and loving! I LOVE spending every day with her, I am so lucky! I wouldn't want any other job, this is the best!!!!!! She likes to suck her thumb, she is so close to walking, she can say "mo" for more, and she pulls on her tray if you ask her if she is all done, she loves her bear that Grandma Hansen made, she loves grown up food, she makes me laugh, smile, and melts my heart every single day. We love you Jenna baby!
Her are a couple of pictures of her birthday and her new ponytail she can now sport with her growing hair. :)

10 Months

Jenna is 10 months old! I can hardly believe it! She is now clapping, waving, scrunching her nose and making silly faces, giving us beautiful slobbery kisses, walking along furniture, saying things like "banana, yes, all done" I don't know if she means to but it sure sounds like it. She LOVES to play in the tupperware drawer and help mommy in the kitchen. She loves to play with her daddy and have her picture taken. I can't believe how rapidly she is changing and learning and growing all of a sudden. She is our amazing little angel and we love her SO much!

Family Reunion, Beach Camping, San Diego Fun

We have had a lot of fun the last couple of weeks! First we went beach camping at Carpinteria State Beach. We went for a Willardson Family reunion. The Willardsons are Andrew's mom's family. We had SO much fun! Andrew has an incredicble, awesome, hilarious family! We played at the beach, did a little shopping, played games, had treats, and laughed and laughed around the campfire. Jenna did really well on the way down as long as one of us sat back there with her so she knew she wasn't alone. We drove to Vegas the first night and stayed with Andrew's Dad's sister Margie and her family, it was fun to meet cousins I had not met before.
While camping, Jenna slept like a rock in the tent. Even when the older kids were running around and being loud. I was really grateful she did so well. This was her first time camping and she was great! I love my awesome, go with the flow baby! :) My and Andrew's anniversary was on the Wednesday we were there, so we put Jenna to bed at about 7 pm and went on a bike ride along the beach while Andrew's parents stayed near Jenna in case she needed anything. It was relaxing and fun. After the reunion, we went to Andrew's parents house in San Diego for Andrew's cousin, Dan's, wedding reception. We played in the pool, played games at night and just relaxed. The reception was awesome. There was a family dinner the night before as well. Dan and Ann are so in love. So cute. All in all it was a great summer vacation. Now, time for school!

For Katie

Here are a couple of pictures of Jenna's nursery. The lighting on my camera is terrible so the colors in the pictures are not accurate. Her room is mint green, light pink, white, and silver.  Little girls are SO much fun! :)

Little Update

First of all, I FINALLY finished Jenna's quilt! I quilted and binded it by hand so it took me a long time. But I am really happy with it, and Jenna seems to like it too. :) Jenna is sitting up now! She already has 2 teeth and has 2 more coming in as we speak. She is a very happy, fun, sweet, silly baby, and we love her SOOOO much! She brightens up our lives! Andrew got accepted to the University of Utah PMBA program, so that's exciting! We have TONS of house projects we are working on this summer, most of which are constructing our stairs and kitchen cabinets to be more baby friendly. We need to replace our stair rail and replace one of our cabinet panels because it is all broken and has sharp edges, yikes! We are excited for summer! We are keeping really busy with house projects, family events, and just having fun together. Life is good! :)

Singing Along

We love Jenna SOOOOO much! We have been so blessed to have her come into our lives. She is so sweet, smiley, and fun! She is a great eater, a great sleeper, she makes everybody around her SO happy! She is growing and developing terrifically! It is so fun to watch her! She is really easy going, and when she does get upset, it is really easy to calm her down. I love being able ti recognize her preferences and do things the way she likes. It makes me so happy to make her happy. She is smart, and healthy! I LOVE being her mommy! I was so meant to do this!!! There is a video of her singing along with Daddy and then with her favorite puppy that I want to post, and I know I uploaded it but now I can't find it. :( I will try to find it and post it soon. SO cute!

Jenna's 4 month stats

Well The Doctor said Jenna is perfect! She said she wishes she could take us around to her other patients and show them a good example of how to take care of a baby. She makes us feel good. :)Jenna is 12 lbs 13 oz and 25 in. tall! She is just below the 50th percentile for weight, 75th for height and 50th for head circumference. She is a very well proportioned little girl. :)

Oh yeah, and she has her first tooth already! It has broken through, and next to it I have seen another little white spec. I can't believe she's teething already! She is handling it very well though. :) She's such a sweet little thing.

I love her name

For some reason, I have been thinking about Jenna's name a lot lately. When I was pregnant, I kind of stressed about names because I wanted to give our baby a name that I would love calling her and that would totally fit. And not something that would wear off on me. When we saw Jenna and named her Jenna Hope it felt right. And when I think about her name now, I still LOVE it. It really does fit so well and just hearing, saying or thinking about it makes me so happy. We chose the name Jenna because every Jenna I have ever met was always so nice and so cute. So those are the attributes I associated the name with. I still remember a girl I knew in 3rd grade named Jenna. I had never heard that name before and I thought it was really pretty, and I thought she was pretty and really nice. I kind of decided then that I was going to name one of my daughter's Jenna. :)

We gave her the middle name of Hope because I have always really liked the virtue of Hope, and its definition. We had also been exercising a lot of Hope during my pregnancy with many life changing decisions. The Lord guided us to move to Utah in June with no job, and a baby on the way. And we did it. And everything has worked out beautifully. We also exercised a lot of Hope that we would find a house to provide for Jenna and keep her warm and safe. That came true also. And we Hoped that the pregnancy, labor, and delivery would go naturally and well and that Jenna would be happy, healthy and strong. We received everything we Hoped for and more. Jenna is way better than we could have ever Hoped for. She is amazing! We felt that the name Jenna Hope fit perfectly, and it does. We think she will be an example of Hope, expecting good things to happen throughout her life, and will receive those blessings she Hopes from the Lord. It feels really good to have given her a name that means so much. I am very happy with our decision. I hope we can give the rest of our kids such meaningful names too. :)
We love our little Jenna Hope Hansen.

Jenna's Blessing and 3 month Stats

Jenna is 15 weeks on Sunday! We had her blessed two weeks ago. It was really wonderful to have so much family here for the occasion. Grandma Hansen made her a beautiful blessing dress and as you can see, she's pretty happy to be wearing it. Jenna's first cold came and went. We took her to the Doctor, and they were impressed as usual with how well she did and what a good girl she is, as are we. We are very blessed. At 14 weeks she weighs 12 lbs and is 24 inches tall. Which for the 3 month mark is 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. She's our growing girl!

My Favorite Things

Jenna is growing so fast! She is such a sweet, pure, happy little girl. She smiles so much! And when she smiles, her eyes totally light up! Even before she smiled with her mouth, she would smile with her eyes. She has really big, bright eyes, and super long, dark, beautiful eyelashes. She is such a beautiful little girl! She is so sweet and makes me so happy! Here are some more of my favorite things about her:

-When she was a newborn, she would peek at us with one eye open

-She likes to cross her legs like a little lady

-When she is not swaddled, she sleeps with both of her arms up over her head.

-When she sleeps in someone's arms or over their shoulder, she has her hands posed against her face. She will rest her chin in her fist or hold her hands together or fold her arms and rest her cheek on them. It is so cute!

-She is an amazing night time sleeper!
-Sometimes when I ask her questions, she nods or shakes her head. I'm sure it is not intentional but it is sure impressive!

-She has always been very alert and very curious/concerned. She loves to look around, is very good at focusing, and often furrows her eyebrows like she is concerned about something.

-She has been very patient with my inconsistency as I have been learning how to take care of a baby. We are working on establishing a consistent woutine now though.

-Easily entertained. Does not cry unless she really needs something. Likes to play and look at just about anything

-She likes to make spit bubbles and play with her tongue

-Her coos are the cutest thing I have ever heard

-She loves to look at her daddy! Whenever he is around she just stares athime and follows him with her eyes until he is out of the room. When she was really little, she started making eye contact with him way before she would do it with me.

-She is very sweet and cuddly.

Jenna's 8 Week Stats

Height and Weight: 50th percentile
Head Circumference: 38th percentile

For those of you that have been asking about her stats. Here they are. :) We love our little angel so much. She has been such a trooper. We have had such a hard time with feeding her. First we had to start supplementing formula becuase she was losing weight. Then we had to switch from milk based formula to soy, than back to milk, then back to soy, because of gastro intestinal issues. Then I ran out of my milk and had to go completely to formula. Then we switched from Similac to a store brand because the Doctor and loved ones had good experiences that way and advised us too. And now she has super large, and hard stools that she goes through so much pain to pass. My poor little girl has been such a trooper. We are going to switch her back to Similac and hopefully her poor little system will finally regulate. Maybe I can get my milk back, I don't know. Has anyone had issues with this. Do you know of any natural supplements or anything that might help? Oh, I hope we can get her feeling all better soon.
